Pawn

The miner: the castle sends pawns to carry gold from the mines. You do not command them.

A mine works while a House (or the Castle, for the mine of its own province) stands by it. Its 2 builders stay on as its first miners, and the castle sends it the rest, one every 10 s, up to 4; they carry the gold to the door. Pawns that fall are sent again, for free, but never while the castle is under attack: struck in the last 5 s, it calls the pawns of its own mine inside and sends none until the calm; then they come out and go back to work.

Pawns are not army: no upkeep, no place in the army cap, no capture. Enemies can kill them, and they strike back with the pickaxe (3 damage). Troops strike a pawn only when it comes within their reach, and only when no enemy fighter is there too: nobody walks off after one (who they strike).

Tip: Killing the rival’s pawns cuts their gold until new ones walk from the castle. Click them with units in hand to send a raid after them.
